About Us

Washington Fork was founded as a boutique thoroughbred breeding partnership in 2023 by Tyler Clarke.

Tyler spent seven years as co-founder and co-managing partner in a pinhooking syndicate alongside Josh Stevens. During this time, Tyler and Josh introduced dozens of new owners to the industry, with Josh heading the bloodstock portfolio and Tyler leading the client relations, marketing and administrative duties.

The opportunity to launch a breeding-focused program with a smaller group of partners was an opportunity for Tyler to launch Washington Fork, named for the small stream at his family’s farm outside of historic Washington, Kentucky.

Tyler is a proud alumnus of the University of Kentucky and holds a B.S. in Equine Science & Management. He gained hands-on experience in Shadwell Farm’s yearling division as well as with the University’s research farm and with a local equine feed company.

By day, Tyler is employed as an equine insurance professional at Clay Ward Agency of Paris, Kentucky. He and his wife McKenzie live in Lexington with their daughter and Labrador Retriever.
